Inspired by St. Patrick's Day we did some homework and found a great cross section of Irish Horror. We give some history on Bram Stoker, and explore tales of sea monsters with Grabbers, feral kids stalking the Citadel, ghosts haunting The Canal, and ancient vampires From The Dark.

It is indeed a #MacabreMonday when we discuss Leprechaun: Origins... but because it's so bad, we make the most of it with some actual Irish Leprechaun lore and we premiere a new segment, The Theatre Macabre in which we perform a short sketch that could explain how this mess came into existence (pssst, Mindy plays Vince McMahon).

We go to the arctic to explore John Carpenter's The Thing and the novella and Howard Hawks film that inspired it. Who Goes There? by John W. Campbell, Jr. practically set off its own genre. We compare the social climate during each of these incarnations and explore the commonalities, and differences.

We got the opportunity to see an early screening of The Witch (2016) A New England Folktale... Written & Directed by Robert Eggers. Wide release February 19th with an early showing Feb 16th at BAM Rose Cinemas in Brooklyn as part of their Witches' Brew film series. Seriously, we loved it, and you should check it out as soon as you can!
